Lucy didn’t have a headboard. And she didn’t have a crib. But when she saw one being thrown away by neighbors the wheels started turning and she snatched it up. But how to make it into a colorful headboard for herself? Clue: she didn’t use paint.

Lucy shares:

Dilemma: I didn’t have a headboard for my bed, but I also didn’t have the money to spend on one.

Solution: My neighbors threw out pieces of a baby crib by the dumpster in my alley. They saw trash. I saw potential. I took the two crib side slats, cleaned them up, set them vertically, and wove some scarves through it for a bright, bohemian look that cost me nothing. Thanks, neighbors!

Thanks, Lucy!
