When Soffia’s family moved into this house in Alftanes, Iceland six years ago she dreamed of transforming this small shed into a playhouse for her daughter and son. The shed, and her plans, lay fallow for years until recently when she harnessed her creative energies and unleashed them onto what she calls a “small slice of heaven” for her kids.

Soffia tells us:

Most items are hand me downs or thrifted, so this was made on a shoestring budget. The biggest change came in painting the ceiling and floor, to make them look like old floorboards.

To my kids this is a small piece of heaven. They love to have pretend tea parties and most of all, the seem to love to “clean” the place. Sweeping the floors and wiping everything down – here’s hoping that rubs off on them and saves me some bickering with teenagers in the future.

Thank you Soffia! Readers, see what else Soffia is up to on her blog Skreytum Hus.
