When roommates outnumbered bedrooms, Brooke opted to take the garage. Now that she cleaned it, cleared it, and spruced it up, we bet the others are super jealous of her fab “glamping” space.

From Brooke:

I moved in to a three bedroom house with four roommates, and I opted to take the garage as my bedroom. I saw potential in the structure, regardless of its state. And I have always wanted to live in a barn… this is what it reminded me of.

First, I had to thoroughly clean, since it had only been used as a garage since the 1920s. Then I cleared all the shelving and junk. I cut a hole in the dividing wall to open up the space and make it one room.

I then painted the dark wood with white paint and an industrial paint sprayer. I was lucky enough to get a white-washed effect by doing this.

The structure has no insulation and is basically a wooden shack, but I am fortunate enough to live in Southern California, where the weather is mild and warm. Hence, I am able to live comfortably in a “glamping” fashion.

After sealing off all the holes and cracks and decorating, this is the final product!

Thank you Brooke!
