Chelsea had already made one enhancement to her Ektorp Jennylund chairs from IKEA (the cute pom-pom fringe she added to the bottom), but what she really wanted was chairs with a more Mid Century Modern vibe. She looked for super cheap steals on Cragislist…and struck out. She researched new slipcovers to buy…but they, too, were out of her budget. Finally, she resigned herself to tackling them as a DIY makeover.

Chelsea made three changes to her Jennylunds to achieve the sleeker look she was going for: 1) a dye job to the original slipcovers to go from white to greige 2) removing the chair skirt 3) adding new legs. She wishes the slipcovers had held up a bit better after washing, but she got the look she wanted and for only $30/chair.
