While packing up her apartment for a move, Jenn asked her three-year-old son, “If you could have anything in the world in your new room, what would it be?” His answer was immediate: “A garage to keep all of my trucks.” So rather than ditch this drab, old shelf in the move, the wheels began turning.

Absolutely adorable! We love how Jenn turned those scallop shapes into little-boy-worthy cars!

From Jenn:

I gave the shelf a quick coat of Pool Blue paint. The blue gave more coverage than I thought it would, and so I only needed one coat. I taped out window shapes on the scallops, painted them red, orange, or yellow, and added wheels with a black paint pen. The garage sign just took some paint and a generous helping of wood glue (and a little nod to The Kid’s favorite show, “Handy Manny,” in painted screws, nails, and bolts on the corners.).

The Kid absolutely LOVED it when we revealed his room a couple of days later, and I’m happy to report that “please park your cars in the garage” at the end of the night gets his room cleaned up quickly!

Thank you Jenn!
