Valerie fell in love with the Mid-Century details on this solid oak 1960’s Thomasville dresser but 50 years in front of a window had given the stain a yellow tinge and the wood a greenish glow. That wasn’t going to stop her.

From Valerie:

As soon as I saw this sun-stained dresser I knew she deserved some TLC. I fell in love with her beveled drawers and dainty legs and decided to make it my first restoration project. After stripping and sanding (and sanding, and sanding…), two coats of stain and three coats of poly, the color has finally returned to her cheeks. While not necessarily a dramatic update, I’m happy with the results and I hope the original owner would be as well. Here’s to 50 more years of memories.

Thank you Valerie!
