Ashley loved the details on this dresser but didn’t love the dark and “gloomy” finish. She imagined something a little lighter that kept the same antique style.

We love how Ashley didn’t rush to make this dresser look too new. Even after the update, it still has a stylish patina that really works with the old-world feel of the original piece.

From Ashley:

This older dresser was dark and a little gloomy, but had pretty, ornate details that I knew would look great with an antique finish. A fresh coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in “Old White” did the trick to lighten and brighten this old guy up! After it was painted, I distressed all the edges and places where it would naturally wear over time. I then applied a dark finishing wax to give it an “antique” look and also to give it a protective finish. A couple coats of really transformed the whole piece and gave it the updated look it needed!
