After buying a home that had been in her family for years, Katie knew there were changes to be made. Her open space updates took her space out of the ’80s.

From Katie: My husband and I bought a 1980s ranch home from my grandparents. The home has been in our family for 20+ years. We knew that every room needed to be touched but that idea excited us because it has given us the ability to make our house exactly how we want it!

The biggest project to date has been a brand new kitchen. Brand new from the sub flooring up. My husband isn’t handy and I am slowly learning new things so we decided to do the remodel process in steps. This not only helped us make decisions as we went but we could spend then save more pennies versus shelling out everything all at once.

The main goal when it came to remodeling our kitchen was bringing in more natural light, opening up the space and making it the center of our home. We are both so pleased with the outcome and at times I find myself just standing in our open kitchen smiling like a goon. We truly love our space. We still have a few more touches to complete like quarter round (we just laid the floors), an exposed vent hood and a rug for the dining area.

Welcome to our space y’all!
