Katie’s RV kitchen was functional but cookie-cutter. She wanted something that was unique and warm, and she took a chance on black paint in a small space and it totally paid off!

From Katie: When we first purchased our RV the interior was in good condition, it just wasn’t our style. Not to mention every single person that owns the same model has this exact kitchen. We needed a space that felt like ours, ya know?

The plan was a rustic modern kitchen design that would also brighten up the space.

From the beginning I knew I wanted two-toned cabinets, but was torn between painting the lowers black or gray. To be honest, I really wanted black but everyone kept telling me I was crazy to put black cabinets in such a small space.

In the end I painted the lowers black anyway and love how it turned out! The upper cabinets almost disappear into the ceiling, making the space feel even brighter.

We added a wood planked backsplash (painted white), wood countertops from oak flooring, and replaced the sink and faucet.

It may be small, but it’s ours and we love it!
