Kari was charged with upping the glam and functionality of the master bathroom for a pair of empty nesters. After re-thinking the layout she added some black and white drama with some seriously high impact wallpaper.

From Kari: My company, Kari McIntosh Designs, was hired by a couple whose youngest son had just left for college. They loved their classic Victorian home, but had always dreamt of renovating it to give it a contemporary makeover.

I worked with an architect to reconfigure the floor plan and create a new master bathroom and a walk-through closet from a laundry and oddly shaped bathroom. The space incorporates luxurious finishes, black and white marble flooring, custom cabinetry, and a beautiful bathtub all of which are features that I absolutely love.

The former master bathroom was also remodeled in a classic black and white motif, highlighted with graphic Fornasetti wallpaper of a woman’s portrait. I thought that this was the perfect nod to my client’s amazing sense of humor.

The scope of this project included the tile, plumbing, lighting, wall coverings, fireplace insert, custom window coverings and bedding and coordination with the architect and general contractor.

Thank you, Kari!
