April’s guest bathroom wasn’t making a great impression, so she started again from down-to-the-studs scratch. With some seriously impressive DIY skills the final product is a serene and welcoming space.

From April: Our hall bath is the bathroom in the house that all of our guests use, whether they be overnight or just dinner guests. The room needed a major upgrade. We completely gutted the space to start with – down to the studs and slab.

We did most of the work ourselves, including the tiling. I decided to do 2 different wood grains to add a little interest. Then I built the vanity and concrete top.

One of my favorite things about this space is the lighting. I love the way the shadows fall on the dark walls. Overall the room feels a lot more cozy and inviting now and the rain shower head is a much needed improvement over the old low-pressure shower head.

Thanks so much for checking out my project. If you’d like to see more, or if you would like to get the tutorials on any of the projects, check out the blog.

Thank you, April!
