Who else has ever felt grateful that linen closets hide your mess behind closed doors? #FittedSheetProblems.

Cara Newhart of Never Skip Brunch had her own clutter tucked inside her upstairs hallway linen closet, and builder-grade wire shelves weren’t exactly inspiring a clean-up. “The space needed function and organization,” she writes. “My goal was to break out of the ‘behind closed doors’ approach to organization and create a space that was gorgeous and worked well.”

A a designer and DIYer, Cara built new shelves herself, spending $112 to replace the wire ones with much more attractive, custom wood pieces.

For the actual function part of the makeover, however, Cara collaborated with Denver-based professional organizer Whitney of Organize with Whit. “She worked with me to think up custom organization solutions to make the closet really work for our lifestyle,” Cara writes. Cara spent $230 on wire, woven, and felt baskets to lend some serious chicness and cohesiveness to the closet. Had she not teamed up with Whitney on the project and resulting photos, Cara says the service would have cost an additional $150.

Now Cara isn’t hiding anything. “The only thing I wish I could do differently in the space [is] add barn or glass-paned doors since the custom shelves and organized aesthetic is too pretty to be hidden away!” she writes.

Thank you for sharing, Cara!
