Ranging from pillows to vacuums to washable rugs, our team tries out a lot of products over the course of the year, putting them through their paces and narrowing down which are the absolute best in our Best List series. If I had to guess, there’s no type of item that we test more often than bed sheets, simply because there are so many materials and brands to choose from. There is truly a perfect sheet set out there for everyone — all it takes to find it is a bit of research and possibly some trial and error.

However, we’re here to minimize the chance of error. We appraise the top sheets on the market for weeks and even months to make sure that they’re worth their price tag. Plus, our team (made up of hot and cold sleepers alike) tries out sets to make sure they really live up to their claims — and we judge them during different seasons, too. So, when you scroll through our favorite sheets of 2024 below, I’m betting that you’ll find one that suits your needs!

True Temp Sheet Set, Queen
$150

The winner of our Best List for cooling sheets is Sleep Number’s True Temp Sheet Set, which hot sleepers will instantly love. It’s rare to find a set that prevents you from sweating throughout the night, holds up well after washing, and gets softer and softer over time, but this set does all three. “It kept me cool all night (which is a huge feat) and washes so easily,” says Charli, our editor-in-chief. “The Exact Fit design is really important because as a hot sleeper when I sweat and stick to the sheets at night, they often move or shift. Not these!”

Bamboo Fitted Sheet Set, Queen
$80

If you’re on the hunt for a cooling set that’s under $100, then Quince’s bamboo option is the way to go. AT’s social media director, Rachel, was impressed by how “soft and silky” this budget-friendly set feels. Her window AC unit is located in her living room, which means her bedroom gets stuffy in the summer, but this set finally helped her sleep through the night without waking up from the heat.

Organic Cotton Core Sheet Set, Queen
$229$172

Organic sheets are great for your skin and the environment, so if both of those are priorities for you, then Brooklinen’s Best List-winning Organic Cotton Core Sheet Set is a solid bet. Made of 100% long-staple organic cotton, these are “the PERFECT sheets for summer or for year-round use if you’re a hot sleeper,” according to shopping writer Nikol. “The material is durable but very thin and lightweight,” she says. “It wrinkles easily, but I like this vibe for summer; it makes the sheets look breezy and casual.”

Belgian Flax Linen Sheet Set, Queen
$299$289

Linen is one of the most luxurious materials you can outfit your bed with. Not only is it breathable, but it also serves a ton of style. That’s why this Pottery Barn set topped our Best List. I’ve owned them for long enough that I’ve tried them during every season, keeping me cool in the summer and comfortable in the winter, and it remains a gorgeous, surprisingly soft option year-round.

Flax Linen Bed Sheets, Queen
$180

Linen also can cost a pretty penny — but we found a set for under $150 that wowed Nikol and made our Best List. It has a wrinkled, lived-in look that’ll make your bedroom look relaxed and put-together. Further: “They are stiff but lightweight, so they feel almost papery, but they have a beautiful crisp finish,” Nikol says. “I recently got a 20” thick mattress and had to get rid of most of my fitted sheets because they no longer fit, but I was so happy that my Silk & Snow fitted sheet still fit because it’s my favorite.”

Organic Cotton Jersey Sheet Set, Queen
$116$81

The best jersey sheets feel as soft as your favorite worn T-shirt, and Bare Home’s set is our absolute favorite. Constructed with a heavier weight of fabric than most other jersey sheets, they're durable as well as breathable. “The sheets are really comfortable and feel super soft, very much like I’m on a cloud,” says Jasper, AT's programmatic operations and yield analyst. “Having used them now in the summer and fall, they’ve held up great and don’t feel sticky or cheap.”

Mainstays Extra Soft Jersey Bed Sheet Set, Queen
$25

Walmart’s Mainstays jersey sheets are perfect if you’d rather not fork over as much cash, but still want that jersey softness. These sheets have the weight (and feel) of a cozy flannel button-down. “I really like the color. It’s a perfect oatmeal and looks really nice in our white/gray traditional bedroom,” says Principal Product Manager Anna. “The price is great, and the sheets are great quality, so overall I definitely recommend.”

Home Reflections Flannel Sheet Set w/ Extra Cases, Queen
$73$50

Flannel is the top-tier material for cold sleepers and those with drafty bedrooms in the winter. While our best overall pick is sold out at Pottery Barn, our top budget-friendly pick is still available — and it’s on sale! According to AT Associate Email Editor Carolyn, they “make it easy to sleep through a snowy winter night!“ Plus, she has a larger mattress, and they don’t budge.
