If you’re a regular Apartment Therapy reader, then you know we are always on top of the chicest home trends, the hottest housewares, and the best places to shop. From new colorways to limited-time-only sales, we cover it all — so when we see that AT readers are loving one product in particular, we take notice. And that’s exactly what happened when we wrote about the awesome selection of affordable faux plants at West Elm. Our readers couldn’t seem to get enough of the retailer’s Faux Potted Donkey Tail Plant.

A quick google search for “donkey tail plant,” and I was overwhelmed with information about how to grow and maintain this popular succulent: when to bring it inside and outside, the ideal humidity levels, how to keep pests away, how often to water it, blah blah blah. Well, you know what requires zero upkeep and looks just as beautiful as the real thing? West Elm’s faux version! Super-realistic looking even though it’s made from plastic, this faux donkey tail is always bright green, with perfectly tear-drop-shaped leaves and trailing vines that never need a trim.

Made in Myanmar, this lovely home decor element is available in two sizes: the small measures 12.6″ tall and costs $39, and the 18.5″ medium version is on sale right now for just $47.20 (normally $59). Each one comes in its own personal pot, though West Elm has a slew of great planters under $50 (and plenty over $50, if price isn’t too much of a concern) should you want to change up the look.
