3 products from the best of The Inspired Home show

I love attending a home-focused trade show, whether it’s devoted to kitchen and bath products, design, or something else. They’re amazing for learning about a new talented maker or a company that’s doing something cool in the home space, or just spotting an emerging trend in the design world. The latest show on my radar? The Inspired Home, which is all about housewares that run the gamut from countertop appliances and kitchen gadgets to cleaning products and organizing items.

I searched high and low for the best home products coming out of The Inspired Home show for 2024 that wrapped yesterday in Chicago. Here’s what earned Apartment Therapy’s “Best in Show” seal — and what you should keep your eye out for coming to market this year (if not available already).

1. Staub Stackable Set

Picture your favorite cast iron cookware from Staub — Dutch oven, braiser, grill pan, and fry pan — only stackable with a single universal lid. That’s exactly what this space-saving, four piece nestable set is all about, and it’s an ingenious gift for any apartment-dwelling home chef that’s short on storage.

2. Duralex Pink Blush Finish

Quality glassware that doesn’t cost a fortune — and that you don’t have to be precious about — can be hard to come by. And trendy colored versions of said quality glassware? Well, that’s even more of a unicorn. I just found one, though. Duralex’s iconic Le Picardie Tumbler is getting a springy makeover with the brand’s new Pink Blush finish, and each made-in-France tempered cup will only set you back $6. You’re welcome!

3. Joseph Joseph Space Cookware

Space-saving cookware isn’t a totally new concept (see Staub’s Stackable Set above), but Joseph Joseph is taking this idea to the max with its first-ever cookware release, the 13-piece Space collection, which took five years of development to perfect. Not only do many of these pieces nest in one another for easy storage, but the ergonomic stainless steel handles also fold inward, making pieces very, very compact. You don’t have to compromise on function for these features, either. Pots and pans feature heavy gauge aluminum construction coated with a nontoxic ceramic so you can make all your favorite dishes and enjoy the easy cleanup. Look for these items to launch at JosephJoseph.com and select Macy’s and Williams Sonoma stores soon.

4. Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven with Grill

As if Cuisinart’s hybrid toaster oven air fryer couldn’t get any better, now it comes with a double-sided grill and griddle plate that’s perfect for anything from searing steaks to making pancakes. This new functionality brings the machine up to eight different cooking modes — all in a fairly compact countertop footprint.

5. Umbra Cup Smart Lamp

A twofer goes a long way in my book, and Umbra’s latest lamp, a collaboration with Nanoleaf, is just that. Not only can this smart light change colors on demand and illuminate a desk or table for just about any task, but its base is also a cup. That means you can use this feature like a pen or pencil holder, or stash your favorite hand cream and lip balm in it bedside to keep your nightstand tidy. Operate it completely wirelessly via the Nanoleaf app (with voice commands if integrated into a smart home system), and take it with you outdoors, if you want — it’s both rechargeable and has a charging port to power up your devices.

6. Libman PetPlus Angle Broom with Dustpan

I’m not saying the Libman PetPlus Angle Broom with Dustpan is going to make you love cleaning. But if you’ve ever been frustrated by the dust, crumbs, and pet hair that gets caught in your broom’s fibers when sweeping — and makes the whole thing look pretty disgusting — then you need this new well-designed duo. Teeth-like grooves in the dustpan make all the difference; they’re there to remove all of that gunk before it gets caught in the bristles, so you can transfer debris easily to the trash and keep your tools looking their best, too.

7. Brabantia Foldable Steam Board

If you’ve left ironing behind and have jumped on the steaming bandwagon, allow me to introduce you to the Brabantia Foldable Steam Board. Part of the Dutch brand’s new Refresh & Steam collection — which is aimed at keeping clothing fresh and looking its best — this collapsible board provides a sturdy, flat surface to steam your garments against, making it even easier and faster to get wrinkles out of them (especially tricky collar and shoulder creases). When not in use, it’s also super easy to store, thanks to its foldable form. The entire line is set to launch in the U.S. later this spring or summer, and this specific accessory will retail for $55.

8. Le Creuset Alpine Series Outdoor Cookware

Now you can take the Le Creuset cooking experience outside with the brand’s new Alpine Series collection, a new line of enameled cast iron pieces designed for use over an open flame. Choose from an outdoor skillet, a square grill basket, and a pizza pan, or scoop up all three pieces for some savings on cost. The skillet’s great for steaks, sammies, and eggs, while the basket is suited to veggies, french fries, shellfish, and more. The pizza pan makes a mean pie, but you can also use it for burgers, pancakes, and other dishes.

9. Beautiful Perfect Grind Programmable Single-Serve Coffee Maker

Fans of Drew Barrymore’s stylish, affordable countertop appliance line will be happy to know the latest addition, a single-serve coffee maker with a built-in burr grinder, can supercharge your morning java routine. It also means no more waiting for — or wasting — a full pot, which is good news for anyone who lives alone or just wants a single afternoon cuppa. And no need to buy pods for this model, either; it takes standard beans or pre-ground coffee.
