Best Seating In Our Classifieds: Leather & Metal Swivel, Kartell, Saarinen & 4 More
Today I want to beat the drum again for something I’m very proud of and which has been quietly growing and building strength over the past few years. Our very own classified marketplace is stocked by our readers and contains NO CRAP. It’s a really great source for unique and vintage pieces from sellers you can trust. There’s a broad mix of readers, small shops and crazy randoms. You can find something beautiful and/or something useful in walking distance of your computer or miles away. Check it out!
My top pick today is this set of swivel chairs by Jacqueline of FORT (pic at left), a shop that designs, builds and reclaims right in downtown LA. See more below the jump…

Step back in time! This is an amazing find – a mint condition C. 1950 Saarinen womb settee of a design I’ve never seen before.

- Dialogica Chaise by Sergio Savarese – $650
- Burbank, CA
From the lovely Pernille in Burbank, seeing this made me miss Dialogica and realize that I didn’t know it was gone for good! Here’s the story: “Due to Sergio Savarese’s death in 2006 the Dialogica Studios and workshop have been closed making this a very rare piece which can no longer be purchased.
The Chaise is in absolutely EXCELLENT condition and has spent it’s entirety in a guest bedroom. Was purchased from Dialogica Studio in West Hollywood for $2,400.”
- USA OK Chair – $350
- Chicago, IL
This is so eye catching, I can see it in a bedroom as a vanity chair or at bedside. I can see it in the home office or giving a pop to the front hallway. I don’t know much about this source, other than it’s USA-OK Industries, they were a Kickstarter and Ray Doeksen founded it after coming back from Iraq. Check it out. “Color availability right now: minty green, brilliant white. Durable powder-coated finish. Custom colors available for any number of chairs for additional set-up fee of $250 per color. Come see it in person at our Humboldt Park studio, where you can also see many of our other designs and examples of custom furniture.”
