Today I want to beat the drum again for something I’m very proud of and which has been quietly growing and building strength over the past few years. Our very own classified marketplace is stocked by our readers and contains NO CRAP. It’s a really great source for unique and vintage pieces from sellers you can trust. There’s a broad mix of readers, small shops and crazy randoms. You can find something beautiful and/or something useful in walking distance of your computer or miles away. Check it out!

My top pick today is this set of swivel chairs by Jacqueline of FORT (pic at left), a shop that designs, builds and reclaims right in downtown LA. See more below the jump…

From Quinn in Brooklyn come these two stunners in green velvet.

He says they are in EXCELLENT condition. Run, don’t walk. He’ll even deliver (but not ship).

From Kathleen Doyle in St. Charles, here’s a beautiful pair of Kroehler chairs to put a smile on your face and give some pop and comfort to your home:

“Darling pair of comfortable Kroehler swivel chairs in the original nubby, fabric in pink champagne color with silver flecks.

Wood bases are sturdy and even, with some chips to the stain.”

Step back in time! This is an amazing find – a mint condition C. 1950 Saarinen womb settee of a design I’ve never seen before.

“Rare and early Eero Saarinen for Knoll Womb settee circa 1950. This sculptural example has the earliest wood frame solid black iron Frame. The upholstery is original.”

From the lovely Pernille in Burbank, seeing this made me miss Dialogica and realize that I didn’t know it was gone for good! Here’s the story: “Due to Sergio Savarese’s death in 2006 the Dialogica Studios and workshop have been closed making this a very rare piece which can no longer be purchased.

The Chaise is in absolutely EXCELLENT condition and has spent it’s entirety in a guest bedroom. Was purchased from Dialogica Studio in West Hollywood for $2,400.”

This is so eye catching, I can see it in a bedroom as a vanity chair or at bedside. I can see it in the home office or giving a pop to the front hallway. I don’t know much about this source, other than it’s USA-OK Industries, they were a Kickstarter and Ray Doeksen founded it after coming back from Iraq. Check it out. “Color availability right now: minty green, brilliant white. Durable powder-coated finish. Custom colors available for any number of chairs for additional set-up fee of $250 per color. Come see it in person at our Humboldt Park studio, where you can also see many of our other designs and examples of custom furniture.”

Sold by the fabulous Karen in on the UWS, these babies have never seen the light of day, having been in storage since birth. Help them to a new, better home! “Created by Piero Lissoni, this chair boasts an ultra-streamlined design, representative of an minimalist yet elegant style. The chair is composed into a single piece using gas-blowing technology and ultimately results in a squared contour, a wide seat and a low, roomy backrest. The Lizz Chair is extremely stable, shockproof, scratch-resistant and can withstand all weather conditions.”
