Next to foundational furniture pieces like a sofa, media units can be shockingly expensive. That’s why I’ve been rocking my IKEA KALLAX shelving unit for the past seven years. Not to knock the KALLAX (it’s a fabulous, multipurpose piece!), but I’m ready to refresh my living room with something with a little more charm — without overspending. When I spotted the Better Homes & Gardens Greyson TV Stand, I was immediately taken by its vintage look and the affordable under-$200 price tag.

You might be wondering where I found such a sophisticated, stylish piece. The answer? Walmart, of all places. The mega-store has been crushing it with its home decor and furniture offerings lately. The Greyson TV Stand is a prime example. It looks like a rare vintage gem! If you’re on the hunt for a budget-friendly media unit, keep reading.

What Is the Better Homes & Gardens Greyson TV Stand?

The Greyson TV Stand is the upgrade that’s long overdue for my living room. Behind its two sliding cabinet doors is a roomy storage compartment with an adjustable shelf, and on the right, you’ll find three soft-close storage drawers for tucked away storage. Its compact, 63-inch-wide profile and 15.25-inch-depth is a stellar fit in smaller spaces, and can accommodate a TV up to 70 inches wide. Cable management cutouts at the back make connecting all your electronics simple and easy, too.

The 15.75-inch-deep surface area suits more than just your flat screen, too. The Greyson could double as a dresser, sideboard, or an entryway console. It’s also incredibly stylish, with its warm acorn-wood finish and angled, solid rubberwood legs. The integrated pulls only add to the stand’s mid-century modern aesthetic.

Why We’re into It

For starters, the Greyson’s petite profile is perfect for cramped spaces. All you need is a 6-foot wall to tuck it against, and you’re set. The sliding cabinet doors mean you can easily access your stuff, even with minimal frontal clearance. And the shallower depth doesn’t protrude too far out, either, yet it provides more than enough space for a big flat-screen TV. It’s striking enough to stand on its own, but it can also be flanked by the matching bookcases for a grand look if you have the floor space to spare, making it the kind of piece that can grow with you as you move!

Again, no offense to my IKEA KALLAX shelving unit, but the Greyson TV Stand’s concealed storage looks so much cleaner. I love that I won’t see cables dangling while I sit on my couch, and that I’ll have the space to store smaller, often misplaced items (like remotes and candlelighters) in the drawers. What’s more, the storage cabinet looks like the perfect size for my favorite woven storage baskets and the fact that I can adjust the shelf as needed is the cherry on top.

You’d never guess that the Greyson was under $200. The mid-century modern design looks way more expensive! I swear I’ve walked through vintage furniture shops and seen similar-looking pieces for more than quadruple the price. The integrated pulls, angled legs, and acorn wood finish give big-time vintage charm, while still looking timeless. One Walmart reviewer even says it was easy to put together! Sold.
