There’s a specific kind of chaos that can only be found in a kitchen drawer: utensils scattered, measuring cups askew, a holiday cookie cutter that never found its way back to the pantry. My coffee drawer wasn’t the worst offender in my kitchen, but it wasn’t exactly inoffensive. Every time I opened it, dozens of loose Nespresso pods rolled around, and any unboxed sleeves would jam up, making the drawer nearly impossible to close. It was in desperate need of a storage solution.

I’m not the primary coffee drinker (my husband wears that crown), but I am the designated organizer — so I took it upon myself to find a fix. I had a mere two requirements: it had to be cheap and easy. Enter: these clear $6 Brightroom in-drawer organizers. These storage bins are marketed for flatware, but the shallow, open design was exactly what we needed.

What Are These Brightroom Drawer Organizers?

These Brightroom drawer organizers are made of clear plastic, so you can easily see what’s inside them. In addition to the 6-inch-by-9-inch rectangular bins, there are two other sizes available to purchase individually — a 3-inch-by-9-inch bin for just $5, and a larger $9 6-inch-by-15-inch bin — and even more that come in multi-packs

How I Used These Organizers to Declutter My Kitchen Drawer

I jigsawed four of the 6-inch-by-9-inch organizers and two of the smaller 3-inch-by-9-inch bins into the drawer below our Nespresso machine; each organizer now holds a specific flavor of coffee pod. They turned what used to be a jumbled mess into a system that actually works. And while we had a pod-sized problem, the bins are so versatile. Imagine measuring spoons, all in one spot; bottle openers and wine charms with a home of their own; tea bags and electrolyte packets, corralled at last.

Use These Drawer Organizers All Around Your Home

Of course, these trays can transform other problem areas in your home, too: bathroom vanities with rogue hair ties and bobby pins, office drawers stuffed with spare cords and pens, kids’ desks full of crayons and trinkets. Because the containers are simple and low-profile, they’re not an overly complicated solution you’ll give up in a month. They’re the kind of organizational upgrade that can be implemented in 10 minutes tops and kept up for good. Trust me — we’re a year in and counting!
