3 New Brooklinen Products That Will Change the Way You Pack for a Beach Day

One brand that’s earned a top-tier reputation among Apartment Therapy editors with its organic cotton, dreamy washed linen, crisp classic percale, and supremely soft heathered cashmere bedding is Brooklinen. Now, while the brand continues to focus on creating cult-favorite bedding and bath goods, it’s expanding its horizons to usher in a new category that’s just in time for spring and summer activities. Earlier this year, Brooklinen dropped an array of heavenly soft bedding (hello, Breezeweave Reversible Cotton Comforter, ILY!) along with a few unexpected beach products: the Terry Bucket Hat, Surfside Stripe Terry Tote, and matching Beach Towel. 

Each item in the trio is made with 100% cotton terry and is sold in a variety of fun, summery colors, like Poppy (a vibrant red and cream combo), Waikiki (a mermaidy aqua and emerald pairing), French Blue (a chic chocolate and cerulean striped situation), Pineapple (a bright two-tone yellow number), and Melon Pop (an eye-catching tomato and peach mashup).

The best part about this Brooklinen launch is that the pieces all coordinate. The Beach Towel is sold in the same splotchy print as the Terry Bucket Hat as well as stripes to match the Tote. Even if you don’t align your prints, the colors are the same throughout the collection, so the Poppy Surfside Striped Towel looks adorable with the Poppy Terry Bucket Hat, and so on. Looks aside, the Beach Towel is applaudable for its spacious size (34”x70″), which makes sprawling out on the beach a breeze.

The Brooklinen Stripe Terry Tote, sold in Poppy, French Blue, and Pineapple, is the perfect casual spring or summer tote with its fluffy material and spacious design. Where the long handles make it easy to shoulder, the front pocket works well for storing lip balm, pens, or even a phone. That said, since it’s terry, whether or not you want to use it for the actual beach is a matter of personal preference. While it’s not waterproof and sand is bound to end up in the terry loops, if not inside the tote itself, it’s undoubtedly cute for a beachy photo op. 

The Brooklinen Terry Bucket Hat is a soft, one-size-fits-all design that’s pliable enough to work with my larger noggin (which tends to be a feat!). The structured bucket feels more fashion-forward than retro, though, the splotchy colors — Poppy, Waikiki, French Blue, and Melon Pop — have a funky ’70s feel that meshes beautifully with current fashion trends.
