Brooklinen’s Luxe New Sheets Are Under $200 this Weekend (They’re So Soft!)

I like my room to be cold when I sleep. No, not just cool, but cold. In the summertime in Brooklyn, however, that means a high electric bill is pretty much unavoidable, and thin cooling sheets are a must. But fall is finally just around the corner — fellow hot sleepers, rejoice! At long last, my poor AC unit will soon get a break, and I can swap out my tank tops for sweaters and my quilts and cooling comforters for a duvet. 

This year, I decided to treat myself and finally upgrade all of my tired fall and winter bedding. So I was thrilled when the folks at Brooklinen answered my call with the release of their new & improved Luxe Sateen Core Sheet Set. When I got the chance, I simply had to try them out for myself — and they’re so good, now I really can’t wait for fall. 

Really, the best thing about sleeping in a freezing cold room is snuggling up under the covers. So for my new fall bedscape (is that a word? It should be), I wanted sheets that were super cozy. Ideally, they’d be slightly thicker than the cooling bamboo sheets I use in the summer, but just as soft. Lucky for me, Brooklinen’s new Luxe Sateen Sheets are all of that and more. The sheets first arrived incredibly packaged in a nice blue box and wrapped up for protection, so I knew right off the bat this would be a treat. I tossed them in the wash, and for the first time in my life, I waited excitedly to make the bed. I ordered the Queen size of the Luxe Core Sheet Set, in the color Pebble — a gorgeous, neutral beige tone that instantly warmed up my space. Paired with my floral headboard and white duvet cover, this beautiful beige feels anything but sad, IMHO. The sheets added some much-needed visual intrigue to my bed, but kept the overall vibe feeling cozy, calm, and hotel-like, exactly how I like it. 

My first thought upon actually getting into bed was that these sheets felt downright expensive. Compared to the cooling bamboo sheets I’d been sleeping on all summer, these ones were a bit of an adjustment at first; they’re not quite as silky soft as what I was used to. But the second the room cooled off, and I cozied up under the covers with my cat, Phoebe, I was sold. They’re warmer than the bamboo sheets, but somehow still very breathable. I think I’ll use these mostly in the cooler months, but you definitely could use them year-round if you’d like. Since I first got them I’ve washed these sheets a few times, and I can confidently say that they get better with every wash. I haven’t noticed any change to the color, but they’re definitely getting even softer and more fluid with every use. 

I’ve tried (and loved) Brooklinen towels before, but I’d never tried their bedding until now. I definitely get the hype: The Luxe Sateen sheets were incredibly smooth to the touch, exactly as promised, and the perfect all-season weight. If you’re a really hot sleeper, then a cooling sheet might be better for you — but for me, these are the perfect cozy sheets for the fall.
