The Surprising Place You’d Never Think to Look for Budget Decorative Mirrors

Mirrors can make or break (pun intended) a room. They’re versatile enough to brighten a room, expand it, add some depth and color, and so much more — but for a piece of silvered glass, they can be expensive! Budget mirrors are great, but sometimes your decor just calls for a large piece, and trying to get something that doesn’t break the bank can be a task, to say the least. Luckily, TikTok user and interior designer Brianna Via (@brialiving) had an excellent solution. 

In the TikTok, she lists things that you shouldn’t overspend on when building your home, and first on the list, obviously, is mirrors. Instead of going to a big-box retailer, she advises finding a local mirror shop or a business that makes mirrors for public bathrooms or gyms. These businesses, she says, tend to have large sheets of glass lying around, and she points to her own mirror as an example — a 9-foot sheet of glass with a simple thin black frame that she got for just $300. It’s just one of many ways you can stick to your home decor budget. 

The best part, of course, is that you can customize what sort of frame you want for your mirror, and even get a custom shape, as she did for her bathroom mirrors.
