I tend to follow an unspoken rule that every pillow has a specific place. My bed pillows rarely leave the bed, and throw pillows stay on the couch. Until I found the Nook Pillow by Buffy, that is. They’ve figured out how to make a pillow that I can seamlessly bring from the bed to the couch to the car and beyond. I got the chance to try one out while visiting family for a few weeks, and it was a surefire hit during all those days of quality time spent lounging at home.

The Nook Pillow is essentially an oversized neck pillow that’s not too soft or too firm for comfort. Its cuddly sherpa cover is as soft as a teddy bear, and it’s stuffed just the right amount so that it looks like it was pulled out of a cartoon into real life. I shared the pillow with everyone in the house, and they all had different styles of lounging with it. My cousin liked to wear it around her neck and practically melted into a sofa nap when she used it. My nieces, who are three and four and bicker over everything, actually shared the pillow to watch TV. It’s too big for either of them to wear around their necks but wonderfully padded enough for each of them to lay on one side. I personally liked to use it as a backrest whenever I had some downtime to catch up on Netflix, and I even used it as a cushion for the hard floor when all of the proper seating was occupied.

The most impressive thing about the Nook Pillow is how durable it is. No matter how often we passed around, it never lost its shape or plushness. We tossed it down the stairs, carried it all over the house, spilled food on it (it was only a matter of time), and it still looks good as new! It’s easy to spot clean, and the removable cover is machine washable (the pillow itself is dry clean only). Available in three neutral colorways, it also makes for a stylish throw pillow if you’re looking for something that sticks out from the norm of squares, circles, and rectangles.

Though I have yet to bring it on a road trip, I already get the sense that the Nook is the ultimate pillow for the car, especially because you can prop it behind you if wearing it around your neck is uncomfortable. It’s super cozy, great for all different types of relaxing, and doesn’t wear down easily. And unless you’ll be the only one using it, I highly recommend getting more than one to prevent a family-wide tug-of-war. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
