I used to be a professional organizer for a living, and one of the biggest challenges for any client — no matter how big and beautiful the kitchen — was always figuring out where and how to store cookware. Pots. Pans. Dutch Ovens. Lids. (Ugh, don’t get me started on lids.)

In the same way that Tupperware drawers are always a maze to figure out, cookware is similar; it’s just much, much bigger. If you have large drawers close to your stove, that’s a great start, but even then, deciding which pots and pans to put together (and then lids!) can pose a problem. If you have enough cabinet space to spread out your pots and pans for easy accessibility and still have room to store other food prep or baking items, then congrats. I’d love to see your space!

However, I can never have enough storage, and figuring out where to place oversized items like pots and pans is always a tough one.

So when I saw that the trendy and colorful Caraway cookware set included a pan rack organizer as well as a canvas lid holder, I knew I had to have it.

I was so excited to receive this cookware set for multiple reasons. It’s ceramic, nonstick, beautiful, came with its own organizer, and let’s be honest… it’s always fun to get something new for your home. So I did not anticipate being the most excited about this hidden feature in the pan rack organizer: It’s magnetic.

Yes, the pan rack organizer that so perfectly holds my new pans in line is magnetic. Each portion of the rack perfectly holds one of the cookware pieces upright, and all four portions can separate to stand alone or join together with their magnetic sides to create organizational flexibility and magic. I was so shocked I made a TikTok about it. I mean, I was excited even to get a pan organizer with my cookware at all (plus a lid holder!), but I assumed that it was permanently fixed in its shape.

While lining your pots and pans up in this organizer really does maximize your cabinet space, the fact that it is magnetic opens up the possibilities even more.

Have smaller cabinets and need to break up your cookware set? Cool. You can group together the smaller frying pan and sauce pan in one cabinet and the bigger saute pan and dutch oven in the other. Or want to keep the dutch oven on top of the stove at all times? Great. Line up the other three in their magnetic pan rack organizer and repurpose the fourth somewhere else.

This simple but thoughtful feature really does take a fantastic organizing product and just blows it out of the water. I want all of my organizing racks to be magnetic so that I can adjust them to the shape of my cabinets and shelves as I please! (I also secretly wish all of my organizing clients had pots and pans that included magnetic organizing racks.)

Until then, I’ll keep switching up the order of how I store my cookware. Just because I can.
