If you’ve followed my writing over the last few years here at Apartment Therapy, then there’s one thing you probably know about me: I am a terribly hot sleeper. Because of this, I’ve tested many products designed to keep you cool as you catch some z’s. From sheets and duvet covers to a few mattresses now, testing out cooling bedding has sort of become “my thing.” That being said, there’s still one product I’ve never tested and that’s a cooling pillow — well, at least that used to be the case.

I know, I know — out of all of the cooling bedding out there a pillow seems like the first you’d test, but what can I say? I just never got around to it. However, over the last few months I got the chance to put Casper’s Hybrid Snow Pillow to the test, and reader, I don’t say this lightly: I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to find the pillow of my dreams.

What Is the Casper Hybrid Snow Pillow?

So, what’s so special about this pillow? Well, naturally, it’s all in the design. Made with a dual foam and fiber construction, this pillow features much of the same technology that makes its Hybrid Snow mattresses (my personal favorite) so refreshingly cool. A CoolTouch cover offers immediate cooling from the moment your head hits the pillow, while interior AirScape foam and HeatDelete bands promise a whopping 12-plus hours of cooling sleep. Combine that with a soft yet supportive feel, and it’s hard not to love this pillow.

Why I Love the Casper Hybrid Snow Pillow

For as often as I test (and like!) cooling sleep products, you’d think I’d be a little less skeptical about them, but alas I always seem to approach these products with a little hesitation. My worry in this case was whether or not it would live up to the 12-plus hour cooling sleep it claims without needing a toss or two of my pillow. Now, I will say, from the jump, I was pleasantly surprised.

The first thing I appreciated was the weight. I typically don’t go for foam pillows because they weigh a ton and I like something a little more lightweight. This pillow, however, is a really nice happy medium — something I’m attributing to the mix of foam and fiber. As I laid my head down, I’m slightly embarrassed to say a huge grin crept across my face as I let out an enthusiastic, “Ooh!” Reader, this pillow is chilly and I couldn’t be happier. As a side sleeper, I also found it provided the perfect amount of support as I woke up with no neck pain. But the real kicker is, yes, there was a noticeable difference in how cool I felt as I slept with two of the most miraculous things happening — no curly hair at the nape of my neck in the morning and no need to flip to “the cool side.” This pillow is the real deal, folks.

Now, I won’t sit here and act like $149 isn’t a lot for a pillow — it definitely is. However, if there’s one thing you should always invest in, it’s your sleep. So, do I think the Casper Hybrid Snow Pillow is worth shelling out for? Totally. After all, there’s truly no price you could put on the health benefits that come from a good night’s sleep.
