When newlyweds Ryan and Kelsey bought a home, they decided to give their child a bedroom. Nothing unique about a kid getting her own room—except that their child is actually a cat named Stella.

Shortly after getting hitched, the couple moved into their Orlando house in 2018, and began documenting their DIY renovation journey on Instagram. Along with the rest of the house, they also remodeled the space under the staircase, which they thought would make for a cozy bedroom for Stella.

It’s really like Harry Potter’s bedroom, but actually livable. The space features a farmhouse-style aesthetic in a grey and white color palette, complete with a bed, play area, and litter box.

Other small details make the space even more charming, such as a lantern pendant light, Stella’s portrait, a cat door, and a laser-cut lettering on the wall that reads, “Home is where the cat is.”

According to Ryan and Kelsey, they adopted Stella when she was just five weeks old, and they’ve had her for five years now. “We wanted to make her her own room because she’s spoiled and so loved, she deserves it! It fit into the aesthetic of our home perfectly too,” Kelsey told Bored Panda.

And the rest of the house lives up to Stella’s room. There is a lot of gray and white along with loads of texture. Plus, they feature all the DIY details on their Instagram feed.

You can see more of Stella on the Newbuild Newlyweds’ Instagram account.
