Your Cat Will Love to Lounge on This Super Chic Couch
Cat lovers will know that they’re pretty easy pets (for the most part). Felines generally keep themselves to themselves, and they love to lounge. This is why, if you’re considering treating your kitty to a purrfect gift this holiday season, make it the Cat Couch.
The clue is quite literally in the name. It’s a couch for your cat… and a super stylish one at that. Recently released by Los Angeles-based design collective Work in Progress, the Cat Couch is an innovative new product that’s been designed to give feline friends a comfortable place to lounge and play while reducing waste.
Designed in L.A. and manufactured in Arizona, each Cat Couch is hand-crafted from fine Baltic Birch plywood and features sleek curved edges that will provide a comfortable spot for furry friends. The miniature couch—which is especially ideal for cat parents who live in small spaces—has been designed to be a receptacle for a recyclable and replaceable scratch-pad. “Scratch, flip, scratch, recycle, insert new scratch-pad, repeat,” the product description reads.
The couch’s cushion has been designed by Block Shop and is available in three eye-catching prints: “Raj Mandir – Adobe”, a crescent-printed warm brown; “Saddle Blanket – Sunset”, a sunset red with a striped design, and “Mini Dot Dash – Indigo”, a gray abstract print on a blue background. Each of the designs has been printed by hand in small batches in Jaipur, India, using soft, AZO-free, non-toxic pigments.
“Work in Progress is the sister brand of Denvir Enterprises, a new-ish, queer woman-owned, multi-line agency headquartered in Los Angeles, founded by Emma Holland Denvir,” reads a press release announcing the exciting new product. ” Work in Progress was born with the goals of bringing attention to brands that are queer womxn-owned and operated and highlights designers and manufactures that are people of color and/or female, non-binary, and trans. With each launch, Work in Progress will take you behind the scenes and introduce you to the makers, the materials they work with, and their processes.”
The Cat Couch retails for $180, and refill scratch pads are available for $10 each, or a pack of 2 for $18.
