This Week: The Best Furniture Finds Under $50

There are a handful of things for your home you should not skimp on if you can help it. For furnishings you put through the wringer on a daily basis (like your sofa, dresser or mattress), buy the best quality you can afford. But for smaller accents (which are great for changing up the look of your home when you’re in need of a refresh) I personally think it’s okay to skimp. If you’re looking for occasional furniture that’ll add some style to your living spaces, consider these 11 cheap but chic pieces, each under $50.

1. Larisa Vinyl Storage at Urban Outfitters, $49
   If you’re going old-school with your music, you’re going to need a place to hold your record player and store all those vinyls. It might as well be this cute.

   Butler trays are one of those household items you don’t ever think you need, until you have one and wondered what you ever did without it. It’s perfect for setting up an impromptu drink station when guests come over, serving coffee, sofa dining and TV bingeing, and beyond. The tray top is reversible and removable, and the whole thing folds up for convenient storage.
3. Umbra Loop Side Table, Copper at Amazon, $50
   The copper trend has taken over home accents, and this sweet rosy table by Umbra is a great way to pepper it throughout your décor in a functional way.
4. Lex Adjustable Barstool Metal in Black at Target, $49.99
   Add a dash of contemporary style to your breakfast bar with these adjustable barstools. Since the seat back is low, they’re easy to slide in and out of when space is tight.
5. Threshold Entryway Bench at Target, $49.99
   Even if your “foyer” is nothing more than a small patch of wall, you can still create a makeshift landing strip with a bench like this one from Target; just add some hooks or floating shelving on the wall above, and voila, you have yourself an entryway.
6. Room Essentials Storage Accent Table in Black at Target, $34.99
   Target kills it in the cheap yet chic department for home goods. This side table from the big box store wins for its good looks, but also because it does double duty.
7. Threshold Black & White Pouf at Target, $49.99
   Part foot stool, part seating, part side table: poufs may suffer from a bit of an identity crisis, but their multitasking abilities make them a living room asset.

   After all those years of espresso-colored wood overload in the home, blonde birch wood is refreshing.

10. UMA Mixed Media Stool at T.J.Maxx, $49.99
    T.J.Maxx/Home Goods calls out to me like a siren song; I often find myself wandering through the furniture section without knowing how I even got there (wasn’t I supposed to be grocery shopping?). Regardless of my occasional fugue states, it’s great pieces like this wood and metal side table that keep me coming back on purpose.
11. Metal Stackable Side Chair in Matte Green at Wayfair, $177.99
    For just under $45 a piece, you can add a pop of verdant green to your dining area. After all, I hear green furnishings are on the up and up.
