Christina Hendricks’ Art Deco Bar Area Is Inspired By NYC’s Radio City Music Hall

Christina Hendricks‘ love for the arts shows through her home decor choices, as seen in the recent issue of Drew + Jonathan Reveal Magazine, where readers got a glimpse of her home bar inspired by Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

In the feature, which is also available online, Hendricks explains that she’s never considered hiring a designer because of the personal connection to her decor. “Everything in my home reminds me of something exciting that happened, a place that I visited, a loving moment, or a funny story,” Hendricks said. And her bar area is no exception, which she wanted to feel like an old theater, complete with similar Art Deco vibes that are found in Radio City Music Hall.

“The bar has a zinc top, which is traditional to so many old New York City bars and gets a nice patina over time,” she mentioned in the interview. It also looks like it could fit right into the music hall’s space that embodies a beloved, timeless style.

Hendricks designed the bold pink stools, which were upholstered in velvet to complement their brass bases, to not be “overly feminine.” Glassware is displayed in the large, backlit shelving units that contribute to the overall glamorous look of the bar situation, and the vintage ice bucket in black and cream complement the wall art. A small detail that shouldn’t be overlooked: the bar towel as sophisticated as a scarf Hendricks might wear on “Mad Men,” which sits on a serving tray.

Hendricks home bar might tempt you to dedicate an entire wall to one, if you’ve got the space to spare. But of course, a bar cart has the potential to become something beautiful, too.
