I’m familiar with poorly designed bathrooms. It comes with the territory of renting. I’ve lived in five apartments in just as many years — and toured countless more — and I’ve never come across a bathroom that has it all. In one apartment, the toilet paper holder was pretty much impossible to reach; in another, the shower was so small that my elbows would knock against the walls.

One consistent feature (or lack of one) across most of them? There’s absolutely no place to put a hand towel, and because I’ve only ever rented apartments, I can’t install a towel ring myself. Typically, I’ve hung my hand towel on a hook on the back of my door alongside my bath towels. (It’s not the best setup — especially when guests are over.) That’s why I wish I found this solution from Command way sooner. It’s renter-friendly and looks so sleek — all for only $18 while it’s on sale.

What Is the Command Hand Towel Holder?

I’m not sure why I never considered that such a product exists, but now that I know I’m ordering one for my apartment immediately. With matte black and stainless silver options available, you can choose whichever best matches your bathroom’s hardware. Best of all, though, is that installation is pretty much effortless. The towel ring comes with two Command strips, so you don’t have to drill into the wall. Further, it can be mounted on virtually any surface, including tile. You can even place it on your mirror or the glass door of your shower, if your bathroom is seriously lacking wall space. Once adhered, it won’t budge (unless you’re actually setting out to remove it). The ring can bear up to five pounds, so even if you accidentally yank on your hand towel, it’ll remain in place.

In addition to the 200-plus five-star reviews, we can confirm that it’ll stay secure. AT contributor Meg added the towel bar version to her bathroom — which comes in the same colors if you’re looking to get a matching set — and absolutely swears by it. “I wondered if the Command Strips could withstand the moisture-rich environment of my bathroom — I like my showers screaming hot, so there’s often more steam than my vent can keep up with — but the strips are water-resistant and have held up with no issues,” her review reads.

What Amazon Shoppers Are Saying

Average Rating: 4.7/5

“I love this towel holder! I didn’t want to screw anything into the wall so I opted for this Command Strip product, and I am very happy I did. It’s a great size and it looks like something much more expensive than it is. Easy to install, very sturdy, and easy to clean. I started with one and ended up buying more for the rest of the bathrooms.” —Lauren

“Installed over a month ago. Feels secure and looks like an install. Placed on wooden bathroom cabinets. We couldn’t stand the thought of drilling a hole in our new cabinets. This works great and it’s used by a three-year-old!” —Mixer spoons

“I tried other types of towel holders like over the cabinet, but they were too low. I put this on the side of my upper cabinet near my sink and it is great! Love that it is Command, and I can take it down without damaging my cabinet.” —JL Levine

Whether you’re renting, living in a dorm, or simply don’t want to deal with drilling, this $18 gem will be a game changer in your bathroom. It’s nearly 40% off for a limited time, so add it to your cart sooner rather than later!
