This Tour Company Has Launched a Vintage Around-the-World Trip
If you’re already itching for a summer getaway but don’t know where to go… why just stop at one country?
Group vacation company Contiki launched in 1962 and have been offering adventurous itineraries to all kinds of travelers aged between 18 to 35. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, the company is taking it back to the sixties with a one-time mega trip that spans across 19 countries and 33 cities. Lasting over eight weeks and led by an experienced tour guide, “The Big Original” will tick off plenty of iconic landmarks and bucket list destinations across Europe and Africa.
Highlights of the 60-day adventure will include: an evening cruise down the Danube River in Budapest; a visit to Bran Castle in Romania, a former royal residence and the rumored inspiration behind the legend of Count Dracula; witnessing the Great Pyramids in Egypt, a stay in a 16th-Century Châteaux in France, and white water rafting in Norway.
The trip will depart from and return to London, and will be subject to enough travelers signing up and registering their interest. With a one-time departure in Apr. 2023, it truly is a unique experience that will let you cross off some of the world’s most sought-after travel destinations.
Contiki prides itself on its social travel style and solo travelers are encouraged to join the tours, no matter if it’s your first time away or you’re a seasoned solo adventurer. The company notes that 60 percent of their customers travel alone, and you’ll quickly be meeting like-minded people who are keen to see more of what the world has to offer.
It’s worth noting that Contiki tours do not include the price of airfare to and from the destination where trips start and end. However, flights that are taken during the trip are included in the tour price. Some trips include certain meals, but those that are not mentioned on the itinerary need to be budgeted for, in addition to any optional activities that travelers may want to partake in.
