Google’s New Travel Features Will Help You Plan Your Summer Vacation
Travel is back in full swing for many people, whether it’s a quick trip coast to coast or a much-needed long haul adventure. And while traveling hasn’t been on the cards for quite some time, it may seem a little overwhelming to get back into the routine of searching for the best flight deals, deciding on hotel locations, and organizing all of the important documents.
Google has unveiled a range of innovative new features that will make traveling a breeze (and that little bit more exciting.)
There’s the option to track and compare flight prices between two places at anytime with Google Flights. To make the process even simpler and wallet-friendly, users can now track flight prices for any dates. If Google detects lower than typical fares anytime in the next 3-6 months, they will notify you with an email. It’s a great feature for planning for far-off, dream destinations, and sticking to a certain budget.
The Explore tool on google.com/travel will let travelers browse locations around the world with filters for things like budget or trip length. There’s also the option to explore nearby and narrow down search to places you can easily drive to.
When deciding a place to stay, Google lets users easily find places to stay within walking or driving distance of a particular landmark or address. Just enter the address or landmark in the hotels search bar, and it’ll show which hotels are nearby. Plus, simply toggle new interest layers on the map to see neighborhoods for dining, shopping hubs, or sightseeing hotspots.
For those who love to stay super organized, keeping track of dream destinations, flight times, and more, Google has introduced a new way to keep track of properties that pique interest so travelers can pick up their planning right where they left off. Just tap the bookmark icon on any hotel, and it’ll be saved for easy reference. To see saved properties, look for the Saved tab on mobile or the right hand panel on desktop.
