A mature bonsai can costs hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. But did you know that you could buy one at a warehouse store for only $23?

Costco is currently selling budget-friendly houseplants, including the much-coveted bonsai tree. In a video posted last week by Instagram account @costcohotfinds, we see shelves of bonsai in ceramic pots, all priced at $22.99.

“That’s an amazing price. Always love Costco,” reads one comment, while another joked: “But my wife says I’m not allowed any more plants.”

Take note that these are newly-planted bonsai, which would explain their inexpensive price tag. The more expensive ones you always hear about cost $1,000 at least, depending on tree species, size, and age. For instance, a 50-year-old bonsai can cost around $3,000, while this 500-year-old black pine in Tokyo is valued at a million dollars.

The other flora in the collection includes a two-pack of tropical plants in black and gold ceramic planters for just $24.99. The first plant is a pachira, or what is more commonly known as a money tree, while the second is a ponytail palm. Both are said to be able to thrive under neglect, making them ideal for plant parents who don’t have a green thumb.

Be sure to check with your local Costco store first before heading there, as not all locations might have these plants available. And as always, hurry before stocks run out!
