Build a Haunted Gingerbread House Thanks to Costco’s Halloween Version of the Holiday Staple
You might be soaking up the final weeks of summer, but Halloween fans are already gearing up for spooky season. If you’re already in the mood to kick fall into high gear — or you simply want to get a jump on your holiday shopping early — Costco has got you covered. Fans of the big box warehouse club have already spotted a Halloween-themed gingerbread house on store shelves, and it has everything you need to create a deliciously intricate haunted house.
Instagram’s own Costco Buys spotted the chocolate Halloween house ($13.49), a pre-built, ready to decorate kit with everything you need to create your very own haunted house. Along with the house itself, the kit comes with spooky shaped cookies to place alongside the house, as well as a pound’s worth of decorative candies and colored icing to customize your creation.
Costco Buys notes that the kit is “sure to be a hit with the kiddos,” but it certainly seems like the family friendly activity will be equally enjoyed by Halloween lovers of all ages. It’s unclear whether the kit will be sold online, but it should be available at your local Costco in the coming weeks, so you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled during your next visit to the chain.
BJ’s currently has a two-pack version on sale for $11.99, but reviews are mixed, with some saying that the houses don’t easily stay assembled before collapsing. If your local Costco doesn’t have it in stock, you can also get slightly pricier versions online at both Walmart ($24.99) and Williams Sonoma ($29.95).
