Decorative pillows have gotten increasingly more funky and shapely over the past few years. First ball pillows appeared, then shells, waves, and squiggles began to emerge, and somewhere in there pyramids and knot pillows also showed up on the scene. Personally, I’m all for this trend. Adding dimensional, curved forms to a pillowscape is never a bad idea — especially because traditional throw pillows tend to be square or rectangle in form and fairly flat.

The issue with any home trend, though, is that most typically start in the high-end market — and I don’t know about you, but I’m not trying to pay $145 for a knot pillow if I don’t have to (even though I’m sure these Design House Stockholm cushions are amazing in person if you can splurge). That’s why I was thrilled to find these $8 knot pillow dupes on my weekly Costco run, and I wanted to share this news with my fellow pillow-lovers everywhere.

To be fair, the Design House Stockholm knots are largely made out of wool, a bit more substantial in size and weight, and, as such, are a totally different product and superior for sure. But if you’re searching for something that’s still cozy and similar in terms of look, then you’re going to love these Costco gems, which come in four pretty colors — green, ivory, navy, and pink. At about 11 inches in diameter, they’re still large enough to make a decorative statement on a sofa, chair, or bed. They’re made of polyester and are perfect for casual lounging, as they have a plush exterior and a bit of cushioning and give to them. I could see them looking super fun in a kids’ room, but the ivory is particularly sophisticated if you want a more elevated feel in a living room or bedroom.

Which brings me to yet another amazing dupe: T.J. Maxx’s Velvet Knot Pillow, which is also available in ivory. Just putting this one out there for those of you who don’t have a Costco membership (and for those of who do, it’s worth checking your local store, as these are almost half price there at just $7.99). If you want warmer colors, though, like what you see on the sofa at the top of this page, T.J. Maxx is the place to search; the store offers plenty of oranges and pinks in their range of knot pillows, so take a spin around the site if you’re not seeing your favorite shade in Costco’s more limited palette.

I’m not the only one who has noticed this stylish home find at the club. “Cozy and cute,” writes one reviewer. “So cute!” says another. “You just can’t have enough pillows!” That was exactly my thought, so I’m going to snatch one or more of these little guys up ASAP. I know they’ll add some visual variety to any pillowscape.
