Good News, Bulk Buying Brides: Costco Now Has a Wedding Registry
Have you ever wandered the massive aisles of your local warehouse store, wondering why you can’t easily ask your friends and family to buy you a 120-pack of coffee pods or a 36-pack of water pitcher replacement filters? Well, now it’s only a click away, because Costco has recently announced its new gift registry.
All kidding aside, anyone who’s been in a Costco recently knows there’s more to the members only club than bulk household and food items (and those tasty little samples). We’ve talked up our favorite towels, espoused the top rated sheets, rounded up the best home finds, and even spotted an iconic design in its aisles. And just last month, Costco was named America’s favorite home store based on customer satisfaction surveys, beating out IKEA and Target.
So it’s really not all that surprising that the warehouse store is getting in on the registry wagon. The retailer partnered with MyRegistry.com for an all in one gift registry that can be used for weddings, housewarmings, babies (get that bajillion pack of diapers ASAP), or just about anything that is cause to celebrate. Top registry items often include kitchen appliances, tableware, and textiles—categories which Costco consistently has pretty good deals on.
Brides reports that the registry partnership is part of its Weddings by Costco offerings, which is a landing page that puts its floral design services, jewelry, photo printing and invitation design, travel offers for honeymoons, and more all in one place.
And if your guests aren’t card carrying Costco regulars, don’t worry: You don’t need to be a member to set up or shop a registry.
Costco isn’t the only major retailer to recently add registry services; IKEA just launched their own back in February. But here’s a reminder before you go registering all over the place: You might start getting side eye after three.
