Costco Brought Back Its Fan-Favorite Outdoor Find for Spring — It Instantly Transforms Your Space
Having an outdoor space in the city or a busy suburb is a dream — but if you’re on full display, adjacent to nosy neighbors, then it may feel like a nightmare. If you’ve been looking for a way to create privacy for a balcony, patio, or grassy yard, then it’s time to make a Costco run. The warehouse store just rolled out its faux boxwood privacy panels that are designed with built-in lights. Leering eyes and questionable views are never going to be a problem again.
“Costco just brought out the coolest thing,” Laura from Costco Hot Finds on Instagram said in a recent video. “It’s a three-foot privacy hedge with lights. It has 100 lights connected to it. This would be so pretty at night. Each square connects together so you can create a huge privacy wall if you want. This would completely transform a balcony or patio.”
“Omg I need this for my balcony!” one person commented on Laura’s post. Another person added, “Picked up two yesterday. Love them.”
These Panels Provide Instant Privacy Without Breaking Your Budget
The faux boxwood panels are flexible and can be easily attached to existing fencing or railings using twist or zip ties. If you don’t have existing enclosures, you could even attach them to brick by using masonry hooks or screws; the solution saves time and money by skipping similar-looking, more expensive live greenery.
And the embedded lights plug into any outdoor outlet, just like standard twinkle lights. They’re UV-A and UV-B resistant, so the panel’s colors won’t fade; plus, the lights even have different modes that you can cycle through to create the perfect ambiance for whatever get-together you’re hosting.
The panels are being sold individually at Costco stores right now for just under $40 each, or you can pick up a set of four on Costco’s website for $255.
These panels can also be used indoors, if you want to bring a bit of greenery inside. “Bout to put it in my kitchen so I can feel like a restaurant in Atlanta or Houston,” one person joked on Laura’s post. “Putting that in my daughter’s room instead,” someone else added.
Wayfair sells a similar faux boxwood privacy panel for those who might not have a Costco membership. They’re a bit more expensive, but these panels are extendable, so you can get a custom fit without having to install multiple panels. You can also add your own string lights to these panels to get a similar look to the Costco hedge wall.
Make your backyard even more beautiful and ready for springtime entertaining with these privacy boxwood panels. They were a hit last summer, so now is your chance to see what all the hype is about — once you install them, there’s no way you’re going back to your boring old fence or railing again!
