The Cutest Holiday Find Is Hiding at Cracker Barrel, and It’s Perfect for Book Lovers

I didn’t grow up near a Cracker Barrel, so I don’t have as much nostalgia associated with the chain as my friends who grew up road-tripping across the South do. However, I love trinkets and fun, kitschy decor, so I definitely have a soft spot for the Cracker Barrel General Store. 

And while normally I’d say it’s too early for holiday decorations, there’s a viral stacked book Christmas tree decor item for sale at the chain that just might change my mind.

On August 16, 2026, Tennessee-based influencer Hannah Rubin posted a video chronicling her hunt for a “viral book tree from Cracker Barrel for Christmas.” Despite the summer weather, she walks through the restaurant’s doors to find a winter wonderland of festive decor and goodies.

Then she finally comes across the buzzed-about tree. When I saw it, I couldn’t help but be (pleasantly) surprised. Because it’s technically a Christmas decoration, I expected it to look more like a traditional Christmas tree — but while the stack of red, green, and gold faux books (which measures 7.5” by 6.7” by 14.8”) does create the silhouette of a pine tree with a green bow on top, there’s nothing overtly Christmassy about it. It’s both cute and elegant, and could easily be year-round decor in your home.

Obviously, you can get this viral Cracker Barrel book tree at physical Cracker Barrel stores, although you’re going to have to hunt for it. As you see in Hannah’s video, some stores have their holiday displays set up already, which gives you the bonus of seeing the tree in-person along with all sorts of other tchotchkes — both holiday-themed and not — like miniature book stacks and snow globes. If you don’t see a holiday display, don’t give up. “Got my tree from the back, Christmas ain’t even set up yet at my store,” one Instagram commenter wrote.

If you can’t make it to a physical Cracker Barrel, the stacked book Christmas tree with ribbon is technically sold on the Cracker Barrel site for $39.99. However, it’s currently sold out, so if you’re interested then keep an eye out for restocks or head to your local Cracker Barrel to search for this truly one-of-a-kind find.
