When you’re clicking around the internet with inspiration in mind, you sometimes come across those great photos that make you gasp. But why? Can you pinpoint exactly what you like about a beautiful picture so you can recreate that element in your own space? It’s probably one of these things.

The mood

Even if you don’t love large lemon art, you might be drawn to how bright and happy the above photo feels. Or maybe a moody, dramatic photo really gets you going. If you notice a certain emotion welling up when you view a particular photo, try to identify what the feeling is and what about the photo is making you feel that way. Then you can recreate it.

The color combos

Certain colors can make you stop in your tracks. If that happens to you, take note! Those might just be the colors that will complete your own space. Inspiration found!

The decor

Is your eye is drawn to one particular piece of decor or artwork in your photo? Maybe it’s a gleamy wooden dining table you’re drooling over, or an oversize canvas of color. You could easily get one of those types of things in your own room once you identify what exactly you love.

The Style

Sometimes it’s a strong style that really catches your eye. All the elements of a room are working together to create a real statement (like the rustic room above) that you just love. If you know you’ve found style you want to try, take note of exactly which things about the room are contributing to it. Chances are, it will be a combination of things that work together to make the space sing.
