For the past 8 years, I've covered all things shopping. My work's been published by Hearst, PureWow, and Bauer Media Group. I'm a Brooklyn-born Jersey Girl (with a BA in English from Montclair State University) who loves a good playlist, a good bagel, and my family (but not necessarily in that order).

I can still remember the day my dad gave me my first vinyl record. It was winter ’99 and one Saturday, after playing Louis Armstrong’s Greatest Hits album on a loop, he took the vinyl off the turntable, packed it in its sleeve, looked at me, and said, with a smile, “Since you love this album so much, it can be yours.” That one moment started a lifelong love affair with music and records that continues to this very day.

Since then, every chance I can, I make an effort to head to my local record shop (or peruse a new one when I’m traveling) for a new find. As you can imagine, it’s left me with a pretty extensive collection. For a while, I stored them similarly to how my dad did in the ’70s — in random boxes and crates. However, a few years ago I came across the ultimate record cabinet that not only houses all my albums with ease, but also my entire media setup. Say hello to the Crosley Everett Media Console

What Is the Crosley Everett Media Console?

Now, those familiar with records will immediately recognize the name Crosley, as it’s the brand behind those “suitcase”-themed record players that were everywhere during the vinyl resurgence of the early 2010s. However, the brand has now also made a foray into the furniture business with pieces for the entire home, including some pretty amazing vinyl record storage cabinets, like the Everett.

Designed to act as the ultimate media console, this piece features shelving on one side (perfect for any of your devices including gaming consoles, stereos, and the like) and a record station on the other, with an opening that houses a record player and a slotted base to hold albums. Wrapped in a gorgeous walnut finish and accented with two sliding doors, this mid-century modern beauty is every bit functional as it is easy on the eyes.

Why I Love the Crosley Everett Media Console

When I was a child, my dad always kept the music playing using his vintage Koronette stereo bar, which included a built-in radio, record player, and — true to mid-century form — a built-in swing-out bar (I can’t wait to inherit it one day. Well, I can, but you get it). When it came to finding a piece for my music collection, I knew I wanted to find something that also invoked the same kind of whimsy, with a bit more storage — and I found it (and then some) in the Everett.

For me, I couldn’t design a better vinyl record storage cabinet if I tried. First of all, it’s stunning. Its rich walnut hue makes it look triple the price, while its gold handle accented doors (it comes with two, but I only keep one on to keep my records on display) and flared legs make it look like something right off the set of Mad Men.

But where it really shines is storage. Here’s a quick list of everything I keep in (and on) my Everett: my entire record collection, a record player, a DVD player (yes, I still have one of those), a stereo, my collection of guitar books, all of my guitar accessories, an array of CDs (again, yes I still have those, too), some coffee table books, my jewelry stand, a few candles, a diffuser, my collection of sunglasses, and my Tidbyt — all without looking cluttered. It’s truly the “Mary Poppins bag” of furniture.

The Crosley Everett Media Console normally comes in at $589, but you can get your hands on it for just $318 when you shop it right now (that’s 46% off!). So whether you’re just starting your collection or are looking for a great way to house (and display) the vast array of records (and media) you already own, I think you’re going to love this piece just as much as I do. Now, if you excuse me, I’ve got a date with Sachmo.

Buy: Crosley Everett Media Console, $317.69 (normally $589)
