If you’re familiar with the craft of tramp art, you probably have an image of intricately carved wooden boxes, lamps, mirrors, furniture, and frames in mind. Recently, however, I’ve been seeing an updated version of a tramp-inspired mirror — perhaps better identified or described as a cross-corner mirror —popping up all over the place, from social media to big home decor brand’s new collections. These pieces are a great addition to a gallery wall (see what designers Kennesha Poe-Buycks of Restoration House and Cassandra Lavalle put together above), but they can also hold their own in an entryway over a console or in a bedroom over a dresser. You can also use similar versions in powder rooms, and I’ve even seen a tiny tabletop tramp-inspired mirror on open kitchen shelving.

This modernized design is much simpler and usually made of metal rather than notched wood, though you can find styles in a variety of materials and finishes. Plus, unless you opt for real tramp art designs and storied vintage pieces, these mirrors won’t cost you an arm and a leg if you know where to look for them. Below, check out my cross corner mirror picks in a range of price points.

Ribbed Cross Corner Mirror

While this mirror is on the pricier side, both sizes available are quite large and would make a statement in any room. So this buy might be worth the investment if you have a larger budget. Choose from antique brass or bronze for the frame’s finish; the quality really shows in the frame’s unique ribbed texture.

Threshold designed with StudioMcGee Cross Corner Metal Wall Mirror Black

From a high price point to something a lot lower, this Studio McGee for Target style, which pays homage to the classic tramp art cross-corner mirror with a much thinner, minimalist silhouette, is an absolute stunner. It’d be lovely in a foyer and is neutral enough to hang in an arrangement with a few paintings or prints.

Rixton Bamboo Wall Mirror

A resin and MDF bamboo frame adds a twist to this cross-corner mirror, while the lacquered white finish makes this piece feel polished and maybe just a little preppy (or Hollywood Regency, depending on how you style it). Let it hold court in a powder room, or lean it on a dresser to add a hit of texture to your space.

Cross-Corner Large Industrial Wall Mirror

Made of sturdy steel, this semi-custom mirror provides another simpler cross-corner option that’s perfect for a bathroom, entryway, or living room. Choose from four finishes (raw steel, matte black, satin brass, and distressed black) and three sizes.

Tramp Art Wall Mirror

Looking for the real deal? This beauty will set you back more than other options, but if you’re searching for authentic tramp art, this mirror from the 1870s (yep, it’s over 150 years old!) is the real deal. Of course, other antique options are out there, but this one is an example of a more streamlined piece with a similar profile as the rest on this list.

Point Loma Rectangular Mirror

With its finely-ridged, metallic frame, this piece is a smaller but similar version of the Restoration Hardware cross-corner mirror. Consider mounting it horizontally for a twist on the traditional tramp mirror configuration.

Black Metal Glam Wall Mirror

Made of hammered metal, this mirror rings in on the slightly lower end of the price spectrum and would look great hung in a hallway or bathroom. Thanks to its antiqued finish, it can skew glamorous or industrial.
