I Put This Storage Gem on My Closet Door, and It Created an Instant Pantry
I firmly believe in the importance of having a dedicated pantry space, no matter the size of your home. When I moved into my studio apartment four years ago I knew my kitchen would have limited storage space, but I didn’t think I’d have to carve out an actual pantry myself. Spoiler alert: I did. But it was surprisingly easy to pull off with the right organizers!
I built cubby shelves and added in a few storage essentials to transform what was technically a coat closet into a functional pantry, but it was missing something. To help me essentially create extra storage out of thin air I tried the Delamu Over-the-Door Pantry Organizer, which instantly utilized dead space and turned it into prime real estate.
What Is the Delamu Over-the-Door Pantry Organizer?
This six-tier Delamu pantry organizer hangs on almost any door with two sturdy hooks, and can house tons of cooking essentials, ingredients, snacks, and even mini appliances. The hooks on top hang over the door (ideal for doors between 1.4 and 1.6 inches thick, which is most interior doors) and the anti-slip, out-of-sight adhesive pads at the bottom keep the organizer in place. It never shifts when I open or close the door, or if I fish out a bottle in the back. I love that it has a sturdy base with a white coating that looks sleek and clean, almost blending in perfectly with my white door.
Why I Love the Delamu Over-the-Door Pantry Organizer
Unlike other pantry organizers I considered, this $42.99 Delamu find comes with several baskets of various sizes: five medium baskets (16.22 inches wide by 6.06 inches deep by 2.95 inches tall) and one large basket (16.22 inches wide by 6.06 inches deep by 4.33 inches tall), which can each hold up to 10 pounds of stored goodness. The six-inch depth ensures nothing falls out, and the variety of basket sizes comes in handy for storing all types of goods: tall sauce bottles, wide canned beans, or oddly shaped cookie containers.
With so many items piled into each basket, you might think the pantry organizer would be prone to warping or bending, but the heavy-duty metal frame has remained sturdy and intact. It also comes in eight-tier versions and narrower six-tier versions; all available in both black and white.
The beautiful thing about this pantry organizer is that it’s super versatile. I used it to create a dedicated food closet, but you can use it in other areas of your home too. I could easily see this organizer working in a laundry room, playroom, bathroom, or even in your bedroom or hallway closet. I would even say the rack is quite stylish — just store some faux plants and a faux candle, and it doubles as functional decor.
In my tiny apartment, the Delamu Over-the-Door Pantry Organizer added the organization and storage I desperately needed. It keeps everything in view, utilizes the entire door that went otherwise unused, and is built to last. It has four years under its belt, and I’m sure it’ll be just as good four years from now too.
