Anthropologie is my personal must-visit destination for holiday shopping. It’s one of the most festive places to pick up decor and gifts. If you don’t have a store location near you, don’t worry — I went straight to the source, a designer friend, to help you figure out what to add to your online cart now.

I asked Meghan Jay, a Chicago-based designer who creates colorful, personality-filled spaces, what she would buy for the season with $100. She made the most of the budget with a mix of entertaining items and a pretty decorative touch you can use just about anywhere at home. Grab these pieces now before they sell out!

What Designer Meghan Jay Would Buy from Anthropologie for the Holidays

Ceramic Santa Espresso Cups, Set of 2
$32

These Santa espresso cups feel like the sweetest little pick-me-up on Christmas morning — especially after a late night of wrapping gifts. I also love the idea of using them for kids; fill the mugs with hot chocolate and top them with marshmallows. The design has a slightly vintage feel, so it adds just the right touch of charm and nostalgia to the morning.

Tartan Cotton Napkins, Set of 4
$42$29

There’s something about plaid — it instantly feels like the holidays. I love that these napkins give the pattern a fresh, playful twist. The colors are cheerful without being too cutesy. I’d pair them with a red tablecloth and crisp white dishes for a polished-yet-welcoming Christmas breakfast.

$29 at Anthropologie
Gold Jingle Bells, Set of 5
$20$14

These bells are so simple yet so charming. I’d tie them to a wreath with a velvet ribbon, or loop them around a doorknob for a soft jingle each time someone walks by. The slight patina makes them even more special — imperfect in the best way!
