Disney Cruise Line has revealed their latest, perhaps most magical cruise ship: the Disney Wish. Even though summer 2022, when the ship is slated to set sail, is still up in the air in terms of travel, there is some magical design inspo to discover aboard.

The new luxury cruise liner will feature some stunning interiors around the ship, starting with the Grand Hall. The main foyer’s design is inspired by enchanting castles, with a chandelier centerpiece that Disney describes as “the manifestation of wishes come true.”

The chandelier is modeled after a moment in the classic animated film “Cinderella,” when pixie dust swirls around Cinderella as she is transformed by Fairy Godmother before being whisked off to the ball. Another detail that can be found in the Great Hall is the Cinderella bronze statue form, a signature of each Disney Cruise Line ship.

Inside each stateroom, guests will notice artwork inspired by classic and modern Disney princesses, and the spaces are filled with storage solutions so families can comfortably relax. Most accommodations will feature ocean views, and many come equipped with a split bathroom. And kids will love the pull-down bed, which features a ceiling constellation of Fairy Godmother.

In addition to the regular staterooms, there will also be concierge staterooms that are designed with a bright color palette pulled from the Walt Disney Animation Studios’ movie “Tangled.” The four royal suites on board are inspired by “Sleeping Beauty” with two Princess Aurora Royal Suites and two Briar Rose Royal Suites filled with gold accents. Two of the four suites will be two stories tall, which is a first for Disney Cruise Line, but all of them will have two master bedrooms with full wall murals of castles and woodlands.

Beyond the overarching design, there are some exciting additional features on the horizon. For adults, the new Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge is a high-end bar inspired by star cruisers from “Solo: A Star Wars Story.” Interactive tastings and drinks inspired by “Star Wars” films will be served here, and guests can look out a virtual viewport to see planets like Batuu, Tatooine, Mustafar, and Coruscant.

The Disney Wish will feature Disney’s first-ever attraction at sea, AquaMouse. The ride will take guests into the animated shorts of “The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse,” which will feature show scenes, lighting effects, and the traditional surprises of a water ride. The 760-foot-long ride is suspended and wraps around the upper pool decks.

The Disney Wish will set sail on its maiden voyage June 9, 2022 for three and four-night trips to Nassau, the Bahamas, and Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island. Bookings for the general public begin May 27, 2021.
