Colorful home office with a green bookshelf, computer desk, decorative items, and a large white bunny figure.

When it comes to workspaces, I find I need plenty of small-space storage solutions that can keep up with all of my pens, crafting supplies, and other desk accoutrement. Portable, multi-compartment storage is ideal, and it can actually be super-useful for corralling all sorts of stuff around the house: office supplies, makeup and nail polish, paint, crafting tools, jewelry, even mini condiments and sauces.

And with the help of a few wine bottle holders, gel tape, and a three-compartment organizer from Dollar Tree, you can make the multi-compartment storage of your dreams — at least according to one video.

What Is This DIY Dollar Tree Storage Creation?

I caught wind of this clever and shockingly simple DIY organizing solution in a TikTok video by GPSCREATIONSdesigns. The creator shows how they grab six wine bottle holders, two clear three-compartment storage trays, and one roll of reusable double-sided gel tape from Dollar Tree. “That is it. In just a few minutes you can build a portable organizer that keeps everything neat and within reach,” they write in the caption.

The creator uses the gel tape to combine the six clear acrylic wine bottle holders into a three-by-two unit, then places the two clear trays on top. Each tray comes with three small square storage compartments, so you get a total of six larger storage areas and six smaller ones. This organizer is designed to be portable, but you could always mount it to a wall using adhesive strips or hooks if you’re afraid you’ll lose it as often as you lose the remote.
