Drew Barrymore’s Bedroom Is My Sign to Try This Gorgeous Designer Trend
If you’re constantly on a journey to make your home feel more whimsical, then you’re about to have weekend plans thanks to Drew Barrymore. The television host and Hollywood icon has already created buzz this year for sharing a peek into her bedroom as well as her cozy kitchen, and now a recent Instagram selfie is getting people talking again. Her bedroom’s ceiling has stolen the show! If your bedroom ceiling is currently just a blank space, it’s time to give it Drew’s star-studded treatment.
“Soaking up my last days of 50. I am so ready for 51!” Barrymore captioned the post. The bedroom she’s standing in features a pure coquette aesthetic, with pink and cream stripes, a canopy above the bed, and vintage frills. And the pink-and-gold star wallpaper on the ceiling is the icing on the cake.
Why You Should Re-Create Drew’s Wallpapered Ceiling
Whether you choose to lean into a wallpapered look or go straight for a paintbrush instead, drenching the ceiling in a swath of color and pattern is always a good idea.
There are a few different ways you can make your ceiling just as whimsical as Drew’s. The simplest and fastest way to get this look is by purchasing removable vinyl star decals like these ones from Amazon. Just plan where your stars will go, and then peel them and stick them on!
If you prefer the look of paint, then you can opt for an eight-pointed star stencil and some gold paint. This is an especially good method if your ceiling is already painted a color you love; or if you want to customize the size of the stars and their spacing.
Cut your design into a thin piece of cardboard or thick paper, and use painter’s tape to help you keep it in place while you stencil.
Or, you can opt for a wallpaper. Spoonflower has a handful of fun eight-pointed star patterns to choose from. This medieval-inspired one features a navy background and similar gold stars to those on Drew’s ceiling. You can pick this wallpaper up in either a peel-and-stick version or in a traditional wallpaper version.
Don’t ignore your ceiling if you’re trying to bring whimsy into your space. It offers an amazing opportunity to bring a fun designer touch to your home that’s also beloved by the stars (Drew included!).
