Drew Barrymore Has Eucalyptus Hanging In Her Shower, And You Should Too
While showing off her new Warrior Glitter Shadow from her beauty brand Flower Beauty, Drew Barrymore also secretly showed off a great way to keep your sinuses in check (and your bathroom smelling fresh all the time).
Behind her, you can see Barrymore has attached a sprig of eucalyptus to her showerhead, and if you haven’t tried this yet, this is your sign to give it a go.
Healthline, eucalyptus in your shower can be even more beneficial than just a daily, all-natural decongestant. A 2014 study showed that 62 percent of participants were more relaxed and felt less stressed after inhaling eucalyptus. And a 2013 study found that people who had just undergone knee surgery felt less pain after inhaling eucalyptus oil, and their blood pressure even went down after exposure.
And, let’s face it, eucalyptus in your shower looks really pretty, too.
Either use fresh or dried eucalyptus leaves in your shower, and the more eucalyptus you use the more aroma will be produced during each shower. Simply tie the sprigs with twine or a rubber band, and loop them to your shower head so they’re close to the hot water source. Give the leaves a little crush, too, to get those oils going.
You can also mix your eucalyptus sprigs with rosemary branches, mint leaves, lavender, or any other herb you love the scent of to create a custom spa-like feel (and smell!).
