I seem to do a lot of laundry. With two young kids, a dog who we let snuggle us under the covers, and my own stuff, I’m always somewhere in the wash, dry, put-away cycle. There’s not a lot I can do to make my system smoother. I already give my kids allowance based on if they put their clothes away (they sometimes would rather lose the cash, though). I have a pretty smooth laundry triage system of baskets

Quick Overview

Why I Love ECOS Laundry Detergent Sheets

  • It comes in fragrance-free, magnolia and lily, or lavender vanilla scents.
  • The box contains 64 sheets, which equals to 64 loads of laundry.
  • They’re plastic-free and dissolve instantly in water.
  • Safe to use in all types of washers.
  • Fragrance-free is great for those with sensitivities.

Due to skin sensitivity and dislike of most fragrances, I’ve been using free and clear detergent since my kids were born. I didn’t think I could do anything to make laundry faster and easier until I tried ECOS Laundry Detergent Sheets.

These detergent sheets are sold in a simple cardboard box not unlike dryer sheets, but they’re soap. They’re dermatologist-tested and do not upset my kids’ delicate skin. One sheet equals one load of laundry and the box contains 64 sheets, which, believe it or not, does last me a good long while.

They’re safe to use in all types of washing machines. You simply put the sheet in the washer drum along with your clothes before turning on the water. For hand-washing clothing, you can add it to the water and swirl everything around to dissolve the sheet and get it properly dispersed among the clothes. I never do a small load of laundry, but some customers have said they tear a sheet in half if washing a small amount of items.

The first time I tried them, I was dubious about whether or not the sheet would fully dissolve in my laundry (I do my clothes in cold water most of the time). The sheet itself is thick but solid. It doesn’t break or turn to powder in your hands. It’s plastic-free but feels just as thick as plastic. Sure enough, no matter what temperature I use them in, they dissolve completely.

The detergent truly does have no scent at all, although you can try the magnolia and lily or lavender vanilla scent if you want your clothes to smell fragrant. The sheets do get clothes clean — even gross gym clothes or my son’s surprisingly smelly socks. I use them on my favorite washer-safe dresses and find they don’t leave any residue and don’t cause the colors to fade.
