If there’s one thing I’m not afraid to admit, it’s that I cherish a good night of sleep. Though my younger days found me being able to stay up until 3 a.m., sleep for just a few hours, and then be back up at 6 a.m. to get ready for the day, as a near-elder millennial, there’s absolutely no way you can catch me having a successful day without getting the proper amount of sleep at the age I am now.

While I used to think getting the right amount of sleep for my lifestyle mainly consisted of getting to bed on time and not eating or consuming liquids after 8 p.m., over the years, I’ve learned that the main factor in my sleep routine is the type of mattress I choose to sleep on. And though it’s taken me many years of trial and error, I’ve finally found a mattress that fits the bill.

As someone who has chronic back issues, a good night’s sleep is imperative for me to be able to successfully conquer the day. It’s for that very reason that I’m always looking for ways to improve my sleep quality. Though my last mattress wasn’t half bad, I was looking for something that added a bit more support, delivered comfort, and would not get hot while I was sleeping. As a result, I ended up with Essentia’s Stratami Organic Mattress— and from now until June 20, you can get it at a discounted rate during the brand’s extended Memorial Day sale and Apartment Therapy’s exclusive 25 percent off code ATxESSENTIA .

Following suit of the brand’s other products, Essentia’s Stratami mattress is certified organic, non-toxic, ethically sourced, and vegan. Featuring only latex and no springs, this green mattress does not include any wool or animal byproducts in its makeup and offers a temperature-neutral sleep (meaning, it’s neither actively cooling nor does it get actively hot while sleeping).

Another cool thing about this mattress? Because there’s no wool, latex proteins, or fiber batting used to make it, this Essentia mattress doesn’t trigger allergies and eliminates dust mites. But perhaps the most important feature of this mattress for me — and for anyone who is in desperate need of a better night’s sleep — is that it delivers amazing posture support. To be honest, that claim from the brand is what made me want to test this mattress out, and after sleeping on it for a few months now, I can confirm that it does what it says it does. And, it does so without an overly thick cushion.

According to the brand, their patented Beyond Latex organic foam “eliminates negative space for proper back support” and is actually featured in all of their mattress products. As someone with neck and spine issues, having a mattress that actually delivers the comfort and support to help with proper spinal alignment during rest is truly a godsend.

The Essentia mattress, which is usually priced at $3,509, is well worth the spend — and for many reasons. You, however, don’t have to solely take my word for it. If you’re interested in putting the Stratami Organic Mattress to the test, the brand is offering Apartment Therapy readers 25 percent off of their purchase with the code ATxESSENTIA through June 20. And, if this one doesn’t happen to fit your needs, the brand does offer a 120-night sleep trial, so you’ll be able to return or exchange it for a mattress that better suits your sleep pattern. (And this is especially perfect while the sale is going on, because it also includes the Tatami, Classic REM5, and Dormeuse REM9 versions!)
