If you’re a fan of flexible, affordable upgrades to your current property — like the idea of adding a tiny home or ADU to the backyard — then you’re going to love these Pinterest-perfect kit homes from Finnish firm Pluspuu. Especially since many of the standard model log cabins come complete with a sauna option.

Finnish architectural design firm Pluspuu offers a wide range of modern cabin-styled prefab homes built by Ollikaisen Hirsirakenne Oy, a company with over 40 years’ experience in log cabin construction, meant to “transcend our conventional notions of traditional log houses.” Each of the eleven models is designed with clean, modern lines, flooded with natural light, and sustainable materials — not to mention more than half of them include a sauna. Because kalsarikannit.

According to the Pluspuu website, the range of models was designed to offer “holiday homes that can be easily converted into permanent residences [or] tailored to the customer’s exact requirements and to fit on-site conditions.” The Finnish company can also manufacture houses to customer’s own drawings and specifications. The potential for upgrading your existing property with affordable spaces through these additional dwelling units (ADUs) are pretty awesome — from separate guest houses or granny flats with rental income potential to separate creative areas for working, being more inspired, or self-care recovery at home, and everything in between.

Dwell reports that the log cabin kit homes start at $18,000 — ranging from about 650 to about 1,400 square feet — and although they aren’t available in the US (yet), the daydreams of sleek, sophisticated and casual living are carrying us away RN. (Dwell also has a much more in-depth look at the technical specs, including Pluspuu’s column-and-beam, non-settling spruce or pine log construction and cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels.)
