Before and After: Prepare Yourself for a Brand New, Totally Fabulous Bathroom
Thanks to some low-commitment wallpaper, a few thrifty purchases from eBay and the hardware store, and an ultra-clever DIY, this mustard powder room is now bright, glamorous, and utterly fabulous.
Natalie Ensor—@takethecannoli_ on Instagram—went big and bold in this bathroom, taking an ordinary space and transforming it with vibrant colors, gleaming accessories, and so many flowers you can practically smell them. The powder room is now a bright, glamorous space that’s a welcome retreat from the all-too-often drab and non-fabulous world.
The white toilet and tile are practical and unobtrusive, while the sink takes a bathroom essential and practically turns it into a piece of jewelry. The sink stand is a quite impressive DIY: “We made it! It’s copper poles we spray-painted gold to match fixture and bought sink off eBay!” Painting pipes to create a stand—as well as the actual, functional pipes—is a genius move. In a powder room, there’s generally not a massive need for storage, so the area under the sink can exist simply to look good.
The gold pendant and gold toilet paper roll holder coordinate with the sink without being too intense, while the black mirror adds just the right amount of darkness to ground all the pink and red.
The fantastically over-the-top wallpaper is the Flower Party Removable Woven Wallpaper by Samantha Santana. It’s peel-and-stick, so even though the look is bold, it’s actually very low risk. This particular pattern is available in pink, white, peach, and peacock blue. In this particular colorway, it is completely perfect with the green door and gold accents. The white tile and fixtures offer just the right contrast with the vivid wallpaper, while the soft gray floor is understated and doesn’t pull focus from the light and bright decor above. With the right scented candle, this powder room is practically a tropical getaway.
Thank you, Natalie Ensor!
